The BS25999 BCM Standard

The BS 25999 standard will ultimately consist of two parts:

1. BS25999-1 Code of Practice
It is this part that replaced PAS56. Based heavily upon the PAS 56 contents, it is a code or best practices and recommendations.

2. BS25999-2 Specification
This was the final publication of the two part set, and is known as the 'Specification for business continuity management'. It is this part against which certification will eventually be available.

BS 25999 Time Table

As usualy with standard, the time table for publication was flexible. Although, BS 25999-1 was been published in November 2006), the second part didn not appear until November of the following year (2007). Draft copies of both of these were available for comment prior to their release.
